Ticket Sales Through the Roof for Concert Band’s Spring Performance

The New Horizons Concert Band annouced the music to be performed at its annual concert in May at Olbrich Gardens.  Fans are near delirious with anticipation while critics are calling the set list a "monumental undertaking."  The music titles can be found at the end of this post. 

Among the pieces to be performed is: Into the Joy of Springa 2001 composition by James Swearingen (pictured left).  Swearingen is an American composer and arranger who holds a Masters Degree from the Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University.  He is currently Professor of Music Emeritus, Department Chair of Music Education at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. A good deal of the music he writes is part of a genre played known as Concert Literature, generally two- to six-minute-long pieces. However, with more than 450 published works, he has written band compositions and arrangements in a variety of musical forms and styles. He is a recipient of several ASCAP awards.
