The MVP Jazz Quartet (pictured left) presents "Remembering James Williams and Mulgrew Miller." The Quartet is made up of Bobby Watson, Donald Brown, Ray Drummond and Marvin "Smitty" Smith.  And like James Williams, alto saxophonist Bobby Watson and pianist Donald Brown were members of Art Blakey’s legendary Jazz Messengers, with Watson serving for many years as the Messengers’ musical director.

Check out their music as leaders of their own groups, at http://bobbywatson.com/#https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7VKz1w881shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW0kOj15XoQ, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHxuX4Atg9g.

The performance will be Sunday, February 19, 3:00 PM at the First Unitarian Society Atrium, 900 University Bay Drive.  Tickets and more information about the performers can be found at http://madisonmusiccollective.org/Events/MVP.shtml.
